Description
When there’s tough brush-clearing work to do, you can count on a Vermeer BC1200XL to handle it. Available with a Cummins diesel engine, the BC1200XL is rugged, powerful, and offers innovative features designed for safety and performance. Not only does the BC1200XL tear through material up to 12″ (30.5 cm) in diameter, its patented productivity enhancements help make the job easy.
Feature | Benefit |
7000 lb (3175.1 kg) capacity axle
7000 lb (3175.1 kg) tor-flex axle | Machine weight-to-axle capacity ratio is low. This improves towing performance and reliability of the axle. |
Bottom Feed Stop Bar | |
The Bottom Feed Stop Bar is strategically located to make it possible for an operator’s leg to strike the bar and shut off the feed mechanism, either intentionally or automatically in an emergency situation. RESET/HOLD TO RUN buttons on each side of the infeed housing allow the operator to readily reset the system if the bar is tripped. | Helps to increase operator safety while feeding material. |
Clutchless PTO | |
The throttle integrated with the belt-drive engagement process helps ensure that the PTO can only be engaged while the engine is at low idle/low rpm. Automatically, the engine throttles up to full rpm after the belt drive is fully engaged. | Premature wear to the belt-drive system is reduced by preventing high idle engagement of the cutter drum. |
Convenient operator controls
The operator’s control panel and combination clutch/throttle control handle are conveniently located towards the rear of the machine. | Controls are close to the work area at the infeed of the chipper. |
Crush power adjustment
The operator has the ability to manually increase or decrease the amount of crush power on the upper feed roller. | Allows the operator the flexibility to adjust hydraulic flow between the lower feed roller and crush power when the control lever is stroked. |
Dual-horizontal offset feed rollers
The infeed system of the BC1200XL features an upper and lower feed roller. The lower feed roller is offset to the rear of the upper feed roller. | The feed roller system improves performance by aggressively grabbing and feeding material to the drum. The lower roller offset helps the upper feed roller climb over big logs and branchy material. |
Dual-pump hydraulic system
The BC1200XL has two hydraulic pumps, a dedicated pump for the upper and bottom feed rollers, hydraulic crush and auxiliary (winch) circuits. | The dual-pump system design improves feed system performance vs. a single pump system because the feed rollers always have hydraulic pressure and therefore processing force available at all times, even when using the hydraulic crush. |
Hydraulic down-pressure on upper feed roller and manual crush power
A manual control valve handle will apply hydraulic down pressure through two cylinders to the upper feed roller. | Down-pressure on the feed roller provides the ability to crush material to help feed them to the drum. It also improves the feed roller ‘bite’ into material to help with feeding. |
Removable winch line choker
Chain choker is carried out to log safely detached from winch line. | Detached choker is easily attached to log when compared to hook-on cable designs. |
SmartFeed | |
SmartFeed is a patented feed-sensing control system which monitors engine rpm and automatically stops or reverses feed rollers when feeding large, hardwood material. With a simple switch, an operator can choose between three rpm droop settings to fit the specific job application. | This exclusive system from Vermeer helps increase operator productivity and reduces strain on vital engine parts, as rpm settings are adjustable and automatically monitored. Three rpm settings offer improved versatility for varying applications. |
Winch interlock storage hook
Winch line must be stowed on interlock hook before feed rollers can begin automatically pulling material into the chipper. | Winch interlock hook stores the winch line out of the normal material flow and protects it from being snagged and pulled into the chipper at high speed during normal operation. It also prevents simultaneous pulling out of the winch line while the feed rollers are operating, reducing the likelihood of the line being snagged and pulled into the chipper at high speed. |
